Why I Stopped Paying to be a Beachbody “Coach”

"It’s pressure like a drip, drip, drip, that’ll never stop, whoa Pressure that’ll tip, tip, tip, ’til you just go pop, whoa-oh-oh"

Under the surface you want to be of service, and have the freedom to shake off some of the daily pressures of; posting daily on social media, connecting with new people, being a saleswomen, trying to get one more success club point, keeping up with the current clients, limiting social media to be more present, and etc.

Working out and eating healthy has become a job, a chore that you have to do in order to keep up the momentum in a business that’s suffocating your potential and isolating you from family. You want to help, and be of service to those around you but slowly you begin to break. You stop posting on social media, you stop checking in, you stop working out, thus this downward spiral starts to unfold. Sound familiar?

‘’But wait, if I could shake The crushing weight of expectations Would that free some room up for joy?

Or relaxation? Or simple pleasure?

Under the surface I think about my purpose, can I somehow preserve this?’‘

What do you think would happen if you decided one day to stop paying that monthly fee to be a coach? Would you suddenly stop being a “coach” or “mentor?”

Absolutely not!

Paying or not paying to coach does not make you any less of a coach at heart.

I took that plunge at the start of 2022 and ended my coach membership fees. Now I basically do EVERYTHING I did before without paying a monthly fee or having the burden of trying to push people into something just to earn a buck or points. Ending a coach membership took the pressure and responsibility of that title away without taking the actual heart of what coaching is.

For over a year I started to become bitter towards coaching, I wasn’t enjoying the daily actions anymore or my own workouts. It became something I didn’t want to do, I prioritized money over being of service. My original goal for starting coaching, was to become a mentor to weary mothers that were struggles in not only their health journeys but also motherhood. I wanted to help these women, but I found myself turning people away because they couldn’t afford a challenge pack or didn’t want to invest in some stranger. My heart felt like I needed to service my community, be a solution, that’s why I started to coach in the first place but I found myself becoming part of the problem. I isolated the people around me from asking for help by being connected to a company, and making my help more conditional.

Maybe you are like me, I didn’t want to leave the community I grew but I wanted that passion to serve others to be lit again. I wanted to enjoy my own workouts, not be weighed down by the pressure of not doing enough for my community and not cracking from the burden of not selling enough. It’s been a slow process but my hope is to grow a more authentic community of friends and family by being more of service.

“And I glow ’cause I know what my worth is”

I stopped paying to coach for a company, not because I didn’t love their products and programs but felt I needed to start actually serving. I learned a lot and grew a ton in that season both physically and mentally but now it’s time to spread my wings in a different direction and take the tools I learned to become the solution.

My community group is now a free challenge group where I post daily coach posts and inspire with an unburned heart for all my friends, family and others that have a desire to live a healthier and more physical lifestyle. I reopened the door for conversation and the ability to gently talk about my community to others without making them feel pressured as well.

I recognize that not every program or nutritional plan works for everyone or what everyone loves doing. Some of my clients absolutely love the community I provide but fell in love with another health avenue that was different then what I was offering making them feel like they couldn’t share no more due to a different direction they went in their journey. I want to stop that isolation, and have it be a more all inclusive community. Rather my clients do Beachbody, Keto, LesMills, CrossFit, running or YouTube workouts I want my community to still inspire and be inviting because they are still being intentional with their health.

Coaching doesn’t have to be a daily burden for you! There is many ways you can eliminate the daily responsibilities and make being a coach something you love to do. For me ending my coach membership business fees, and connecting with the Coach Content Collaboration gave me a freedom to help that I never felt before. I took everything I learned and now do it free of charge because I love to help myself and those around me.

Here are 5 ways to eliminate your surface pressure today:

  1. End paying your coach MLM business fees

  2. Take away the pressure of creating a monthly or weekly themes to follow, join the Coach Content Collaboration subscription.

  3. Stop inviting, have people reach out to you

  4. Take a sabbatical to focus on your own health journey.

  5. Have an assistant coach or partner within your group to take some of the burden off your shoulders.

“Give it to your sister and never wonder If the same pressure would’ve pulled you under”
