Nurturing your clients goes beyond the confines of traditional coaching; it is about building lasting connections, offering authentic value and being their unwavering guide on the path to wellbeing. š
In this blog post, we will explore eight different ways that you can help cultivate relationships, from sharing your 'why' and offering genuine advice to the power of social media recognitions and sharing your own honest & humble journey. š„¹ By weaving these practices into your coaching approach, you'll not only guide your clients to their best selves but also create a community bound by growth, trust and everlasting support! Ready, let's go! š
Here are 8 ways you can nurture your audience and add more value to your wellness coaching business:
#1.) Have a Helpful Heart š
Of course you have to have a successful business and make a lot of money. We all do! But that can't be the main motivation for WHY you do what you do! You MUST have a heart for helping people and lean into that desire every single day if you want to grow your business and nurture your audience. Your people can tell those who are in it to help from those who are just in it for the money so always lead with a helping heart first!
#2.) Tell Them Your Why š«¶
Don't ever worry about your audience being bored with hearing your story. We ALL love a good transformation story because it inspires us and lights us up! Plus, your audience is always growing which means there's always people who haven't heard your story yet so share it loud and often! Tell them what motivated you to change, what it was like, where you started and where you are now, etc. Show them what's possible and that you can help them do it, too!
#3.) Give Legit Tips š
Anyone can google "how to" do whatever you're doing or selling . They can learn how to get healthy, how to start working out, how to create a skincare routine, how to get better sleep, etc. A few keystrokes will bring up all the tips they could ask for. YOUR job isn't to give generic tips they can find in a few seconds, but to give them insight into the ups and downs they'll face and give them real advice from your own experiences. Tell them what works for you, what doesn't, how to overcome obstacles, etc. Give them tips from your lived experience -- not a search engine.
#4.) Do Social Media Shoutouts š²
Who doesn't love being recognized? We've all had that moment where someone acknowledged us in some way that made us feel all warm and fuzzy and your audience is no different! If someone has been showing up and doing the work for a long time, give them some public recognition! If someone's been actively supporting those in your group, brag on them! It feels so good when people see us and our hard work so let them know you see them! If you need recognition templates, we provide several each month in our coach content monthly membership! Add your clients' photos, write a sweet blurb and share!
"The value of a coach is not in their ability to lead you, but in their ability to empower you to lead yourself." - Michael Neill
#5.) Share Your Recent Struggles š„²
People don't just want to know how you changed your life two years ago when you found a specific program or product or got a certification. They also want to know that you're a real person who still has real struggles. They want to know that you're an imperfect human just like them. Be honest about where you're at now and how you're working through it. Inspire them not only with your big transformation story, but your day-to-day life as well.
#6.) Create Connections š„
Do you have a dog? Cool! Someone else in your audience probably does, too, and they want to see pictures of your dog, hear stories about your dog, and show you their dog as well! Do you have kids? Talk about your kids and invite your audience to tell you about their own families! What about your favorite book, movie, or TV show? Be a person with likes and interests and talk about those things so your audience can create true connections with you as a human and not just a selfie on a screen.
#7.) Do Something For Free š¤²
Giving and receiving gifts is one of life's pure joys so give something away to your audience! Maybe host a free workshop where you deep dive into some of your products or a process you use. Maybe do a giveaway of some Target gift cards to show your appreciation. Maybe create a checklist to help them put together their own unique bedtime routine so they can start sleeping better. It can be simple or extravagant but it will totally make them feel appreciated! If you need a quick resource, make sure to check out our Free Resource Library for some great digital freebie ideas!
#8.) Tell Them What They Want To Hear š
Do you know what kind of information your audience is looking for? Do you know why they're following you and what they're hoping to learn? If not, then ask! Ask them what they wanna learn more about, what they wanna hear less about. Ask the why they're in your audience. Ask them what inspires and motivates them. Ask them all the questions and then create your content around their specific needs! It will help you stand out from the crowd and let your audience know you listen to them!
