Aligning Your Social Media to Your Coaching Business

We at CCC want to see you grow your social media to incredible heights. šŸ¤© We want you to have thousands of raving fans who are so excited to work with you and learn from you every single day. But we also want to make sure that you're protecting your social media and nurturing it šŸŒ± just like you take care of and nurture other parts of your business.

Are you safeguarding šŸ„· your social media from people who aren't your target audience or those who won't be an active percipient in your community? šŸ¤”

If you're not sure, read on for some ways to align your social media to your business so that your audience is full of people who want to work with you! šŸŽ‰

Treating Your Facebook Group Like Your Home

A great Facebook feature is that you can ask questions of the people who want to join. This is a simple and easy way to:

šŸ’Œ Get email address so you can continue to grow your list

šŸ¤ Find out what their struggles are so you can tailor content to meet their needs

šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø Make sure theyā€™re a good fit for your group

But some people may not want to answer the questions and maybe youā€™re tempted to let them in anyway. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

We encourage you to stick to your policy and make sure all members have answered your questions! Think of it this way:

šŸ’ Imagine someone knocks on your door. You go to the door and ask, ā€œwho is it?ā€ but no one answers. šŸ¤ Are you still going to let that person in even though you have no clue who they are? We hope not! šŸ¤£

Treat your group the same way you would your home. Only let people in that will respect it by answering those questions. Those questions show that these members will keep the group safe and comfortable for others, šŸ˜» make sure everyone is being kind and respectful, and ensure that the people joining are there for the right reasons. šŸ‘

Your group may stay small, but it will stay small with people who WANT to be in your home šŸ  with you, learn from you, be guided by you, and become better versions of themselves just by being around you! Weā€™ll take that kind of quality over quantity any day! šŸ™Œ

Be Selective About Your Followers on Instagram

When someone new follows you on IG, do you check out their profile? šŸ¤” Or do you simply celebrate the audience growth and move on?

Itā€™s important to see whoā€™s following you and hereā€™s why:

Letā€™s say your target audience is women in their 30s. šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø Letā€™s also say that the IG algorithm will only show your post to 20% of the people following you. If you have 100 followers, IG will only show your post to 20 people. #math šŸ¤£

Now letā€™s say a creepy looking dude in his 50s follows you. šŸ˜¬ That means he could be one of those 20 people who sees your post even though heā€™s not AT ALL your target audience. šŸ˜³ Him seeing your post is a complete waste when it could be shown to someone who is your ideal client and ready to buy!

If your post is shown to only those who are in your target audience, theyā€™re more likely to engage šŸ‘, and the more engagement you get, the more IG will show your post and the more people who will follow you! šŸ‘

Donā€™t give those algorithm spots away to those who arenā€™t your people because you want a ā€œbigā€ following. šŸ™…ā€ā™€ļø Vanity metrics donā€™t mean anything. Itā€™s the quality of your followers that will make all the difference in your business.

Many of us define the success of our businesses by how large our communities and social media platforms are. We think that if we have large numbers šŸ“ˆ, we look the part of a successful entrepreneur. The truth, though, is that it's better to have a smaller audience šŸ¤ of people who are YOUR people than a large audience of people who never engage and don't care about what you have to say. šŸ˜‘
