We at CCC want to see you grow your social media to incredible heights. š¤© We want you to have thousands of raving fans who are so excited to work with you and learn from you every single day. But we also want to make sure that you're protecting your social media and nurturing it š± just like you take care of and nurture other parts of your business.
Are you safeguarding š„· your social media from people who aren't your target audience or those who won't be an active percipient in your community? š¤
If you're not sure, read on for some ways to align your social media to your business so that your audience is full of people who want to work with you! š
Treating Your Facebook Group Like Your Home
A great Facebook feature is that you can ask questions of the people who want to join. This is a simple and easy way to:
š Get email address so you can continue to grow your list
š¤ Find out what their struggles are so you can tailor content to meet their needs
šāāļø Make sure theyāre a good fit for your group
But some people may not want to answer the questions and maybe youāre tempted to let them in anyway. š¤·āāļø
We encourage you to stick to your policy and make sure all members have answered your questions! Think of it this way:
š Imagine someone knocks on your door. You go to the door and ask, āwho is it?ā but no one answers. š¤ Are you still going to let that person in even though you have no clue who they are? We hope not! š¤£
Treat your group the same way you would your home. Only let people in that will respect it by answering those questions. Those questions show that these members will keep the group safe and comfortable for others, š» make sure everyone is being kind and respectful, and ensure that the people joining are there for the right reasons. š
Your group may stay small, but it will stay small with people who WANT to be in your home š with you, learn from you, be guided by you, and become better versions of themselves just by being around you! Weāll take that kind of quality over quantity any day! š
Be Selective About Your Followers on Instagram
When someone new follows you on IG, do you check out their profile? š¤ Or do you simply celebrate the audience growth and move on?
Itās important to see whoās following you and hereās why:
Letās say your target audience is women in their 30s. šāāļø Letās also say that the IG algorithm will only show your post to 20% of the people following you. If you have 100 followers, IG will only show your post to 20 people. #math š¤£
Now letās say a creepy looking dude in his 50s follows you. š¬ That means he could be one of those 20 people who sees your post even though heās not AT ALL your target audience. š³ Him seeing your post is a complete waste when it could be shown to someone who is your ideal client and ready to buy!
If your post is shown to only those who are in your target audience, theyāre more likely to engage š, and the more engagement you get, the more IG will show your post and the more people who will follow you! š
Donāt give those algorithm spots away to those who arenāt your people because you want a ābigā following. š āāļø Vanity metrics donāt mean anything. Itās the quality of your followers that will make all the difference in your business.
Many of us define the success of our businesses by how large our communities and social media platforms are. We think that if we have large numbers š, we look the part of a successful entrepreneur. The truth, though, is that it's better to have a smaller audience š¤ of people who are YOUR people than a large audience of people who never engage and don't care about what you have to say. š
